Back Story…. This truck is unmolested, period perfect and era correct. It last raced and finished the 1989 Baja 1000 peninsula run. After the finish in La Paz, it was trailered to a car wash where it was sprayed off and would never start again. I suspect an electrical issue/short. Early during the race, it rolled onto the passenger side and suffered some body damage. Since returning to Phoenix 25 years ago, it has sat under a car cover in a covered patio with only an occasional loving glance.
The Truck…. 1973 Ford ½ ton Stepside built in the mid 1980’s by Dirt Trix in Phoenix AZ. It is a mechanical copy of the Jim Venable/Robby Gordon Hay Hauler, and has a 27 pack quarter elliptical rear leaf spring set up with trailing arms. 16 (yes that is the quantity) Fox Shox with resevoirs, Steel bed with fiberglass rear fenders, fiberglass front end, Disc brakes, Fuel safe fuel cell, S-W gauges, Rear mounted steering box with bearings (not bushings).
Drivetrain…. 390cid engine w/427 valve train, Hi-nodular 428 crank, forged rods and pistons, 11.5 to 1 compression, Edelbrock intake, Holly 780 dp, Greg Holman headers, MSD ignition, Art Carr transmission, Summers Brothers center section spool, 31 spline axles, 35 inch tires with ¾ inch lugs. Disc brakes.
Spares…. Many (more than 5) tires and wheels, transmission (not Art Carr built), Radiator, and a rolling engine stand….and probably some more things yet to be found.  Call 480-818-2244 if interested.
